The La Cueva High School Parent Teacher Association invites all parents to partner with us in supporting the students and staff as we sponsor activities throughout the school year.

Amazon Smile

Do you love the convenience of online shopping through Amazon? Would you like to support La Cueva every time you shop? Join Amazon Smile to have a portion of every purchase donated to the La Cueva PTA!

It's easy to join, just follow these simple steps:

1. Sign in to your Amazon account thru the entry:

If this is your first visit to Amazon Smile, you'll be prompted to select a charitable organization from the list of eligible organizations. Search for "La Cueva High School PTA".

2. Then, every time you shop at Amazon, go to  Amazon Smile instead of the usual, and the PTA will receive 0.5% of every purchase you make. This may not sound like a lot, but with a large community supporting us, these donations really add up!

P.S. Have grandparents, friends, aunts or uncles who shop at amazon? Have them designate the La Cueva PTA as their charity too! It's easy to set up and doesn't cost anything.

Volunteer Opportunities

There will be many opportunities to help with PTA programs throughout the year. Right now, we’re looking for people to lead or join the following committees:

Rad Grad graduation party—need 2-3 parents from each grade level—Work as part of a committee to plan our drug and alcohol free Graduation Party! Involves soliciting donations, organizing the donations for the prize wheel and raffle, selling tickets to the seniors, arranging the entertainment, and hosting the event from 11 pm-4 am on Graduation night.

Staff hospitality—need 2-4 volunteers—coordinate treats/snacks for staff a couple of times per semester; use sign up genius for food donations; set up in the staff lounge during lunch. (Past events have included nacho bar, strawberry shortcakes, flavored popcorns, bagels, sundae bar).

Staff appreciation lunches—need 2-4 volunteers—Coordinate one lunch per semester in the library. Plan for a combination of purchased and donated food items. (Past events have included a baked potato bar (mostly donations) and BBQ catered from Rudy’s (purchased). A small gift for staff members has traditionally been planned for the spring lunch).
