Mrs. Joiner earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management while competing as a basketball student-athlete at Juniata College in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, she began her professional journey as a Marketing Coordinator, supporting all Penn State University sports teams.
Her passion for athletics led her into collegiate coaching, where she secured her first Division I position as an Assistant Coach at Yale University. Over the course of her coaching career, she also held coaching roles at the United States Air Force Academy and Stony Brook University.
After several successful years in Division I coaching, Mrs. Joiner chose to pivot her career and pursue her passion for education and student support. She relocated to Colorado to earn her Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver, while simultaneously working full-time as an Admissions Coordinator at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder.
Upon completing her graduate studies, Mrs. Joiner and her husband moved to Maryland due to a military assignment, where she began her school counseling career in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. After three years, the Air Force relocated their family to Albuquerque in 2024, where she continues her dedication to student success as a school counselor in Albuquerque Public Schools.
