Crisis Support

FAFSA Appointments (Seniors only)
Mrs. Chandler can assist seniors and parents with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). She serves as the trainer for other Counselors across the state and is an expert in the FAFSA process. You can make an appointment to meet one-on-one to go through the application together.

Mrs. Chandler was born and raised in Florida. She moved to California upon graduating from high school and attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. She also holds a Master's degree in School Counseling from the University of LaVerne.
Pursing a career in school counseling came from her love of higher education and providing students with guidance in navigating their college opportunities. Prior to moving to Albuquerque, she spent 10 years as an academic advisor and student support specialist at colleges in California and North Dakota. When her husband received orders to Kirtland AFB in 2010, she was hired at La Cueva High School as the first College and Career Readiness Counselor. This position allows her the opportunity to assist high school students with exploring opportunities after high school, including finding the right career/major, exploring and applying to colleges and figuring out how to pay for post-secondary education.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and three children, watching them compete in ROTC and sports (especially hockey).
