Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! The La Cueva Counselors are here to help you with your Social, Emotional, Academic and College/Career needs. Our alpha Counselors serve students based on the first letter of your last name and we have two specialty Counselors who serve all students. Do not hesitate to reach out for assistance.
Crisis Support
If you or someone you know are in crisis, please do not hesitate to ask for help. If it is an emergency, please call 911.
If it is not an emergency and during school hours (Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm), please come directly to the front office and talk to a staff member. If it is after school hours, please call the NM Crisis Line at 855-662-7474 or text the word HOME to 741741.

Mission Statement
The Professional School Counselors at La Cueva High School provide a comprehensive counseling program addressing academic, personal/social, and career development so students are prepared to lead fulfilling lives and contribute at the highest levels as productive members of society.
Confidentiality
Information discussed with the counselor is private unless the information needs to be shared to prevent danger to the student or others. If information needs to be shared, the counselor will make every effort to let you know of the appropriate source(s) that need to be contacted. This may be a parent/guardian, administrative personnel, protective services, or law enforcement. Other shared information includes court subpoenas and communication with other professionals to better support you. Our primary responsibility is to our students, but we also acknowledge parents' rights to be informed.

Below is a link you can use to anonymously report harassment, mistreatment, bullying or non-urgent safety concerns or bullying. The La Cueva Administration will review this form and work to resolve the situation. If you would like to share your name with us, you can and that will allow us to gather more information if necessary and/or follow up with you.
If this is an immediate concern of imminent danger and it is during school hours, please come to the office to report the threat immediately. If it is after school hours, please call 911.
