Congratulations Emily Schmidt!

Congratulations to Emily Schmidt! This past weekend the JROTC went to Alabama and Emily qualified to attend the JROTC National Air Rifle Championship at Camp Perry in Ohio in March. She is 1 of only 17 Individual Precision Shooters who qualified from all JROTCs located in the United States, Japan, Germany, and Guam. She is definitely one of the best shooters in the country. Semper Fi and OORAH!!!

Last week a few of our AP students got to go north to Santa Fe to meet with legislatures to encourage them to support and fund AP classes in the state! It was a great day for the students to get their voices heard and meet other AP students from around the state!

Our chess team, coached by Mr. Ian McMaster, headed south to Las Cruces for the state tournament. They came away with a third place trophy! Good job team!

We are excited to announce that La Cueva has 18 National Merit Finalists! These students qualified as Semi-Finalists by scoring in the top 1% of test takers on the 2023 PSAT and completed an extensive application to make it to Finalists. This can equate to full ride scholarships at colleges across the nation! Congratulations to:
