Graduation and Honors Assembly Information
There are things that all seniors must do before graduation and there are mandatory events that all seniors need to attend. See below for details.
These items need to be completed before you can pick up your Cap and Gown and participate in the Honors Assembly/Graduation Ceremonies. Try to get these done before May 16th so you can move through the process quickly.
1. Complete Final Next Step Plan
All seniors must complete a Final Next Step Plan. These were given out at the end of February. A list of students who have not turned one in is posted outside the Registrar's (Mrs. Ade) Office. If you need to turn one in you can pick one up from Mrs. Bash in the Counseling Office.
2. Order your Final Transcript
If you are going to college next year, you must send a final transcript showing your graduation date to the school you will be attending. You need to order this before graduation. Go to http://lacueva.aps.edu/, click on Order My Transcript icon (half way down page on right) and follow the steps to order your final transcript.
3. Complete the Senior Exit Survey
All seniors will be required to complete the Senior Exit Survey. This survey collects information on what students plan to do after high school (college, military, career). It also collects scholarship information. This information is used for the Honors Assembly so it is important that it is completed and accurate. Click here to complete the survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LCHS2017.
4. Pay Fines
After you turn in your textbooks, you will want to check with Mrs. Cogan in the bookroom to take care of any missing books and/or book room fines. Then you will want to check with Mrs. Larson, the bookkeeper who is located back by the Principal's office, to make sure you don't have any class or club fines that need to be paid. You will NOT be able to pick up your Cap and Gown until your fines are paid.
These are the events that seniors need to be at leading up to graduation.

The Senior Assembly will be on Friday, May 12th during the school day, following that the Seniors will receive their yearbook if already purchased or have the opportunity to purchase. Following the distribution of yearbooks, there will be activities and lunch provided for the Seniors. The Senior shirt with names, will be your ticket to activities and lunch.
2. Graduation Walk
Mrs. Easton is looking for students to participate in a Graduation Walk at our local elementary schools on May 12th before the Senior Assembly. Participants will wear a Cap and Gown and walk through the halls of a local elementary school to encourage the kids to work hard so they can graduate on time. See Mrs. Easton in the Counseling Office if you would like to participate
3. RAD GRAD
RAD GRAD is a safe and controlled alcohol/drug free event for LCHS senior students to celebrate their graduation night together. This year's RAD GRAD is being held at Hinkle Family Fun Center. This event provides a way for seniors to party and feel they made the most of their big day. RAD GRAD takes place the night of graduation. The PTA will be selling tickets at least one day a week at lunch. Contact Michelle Jensen for more information firstname.lastname@example.org.
Important Dates and Deadlines (aka Scholarship List) - April 2017
Here is your April edition of our Important Dates and Deadlines! This includes scholarships, college admissions deadlines, FAFSA (financial aid) dates and much more.
Graduation Meeting and Transition to College Presentation
Thank you to everyone who attended our presentation on Monday, April 3rd. Below is a copy of the PowerPoint that we presented along with some information on parking for graduation. We will post more graduation information soon.
These are scholarship applications that were mailed to me. I have scanned them in so you can easily print and complete them if you are eligible to apply.
Here are some important announcements related to scholarships, financial, a CNM On-Site admissions event and Field Trip and upcoming events that include mandatory meetings.
Please don’t forget that you can fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at any time by going to https://fafsa.gov/. This is the application that is required to receive federal grants, federal work-study and federal student loans. Even if you don’t think you will qualify for the need-based aid that is available, please know that some schools require you to have a completed FAFSA on file in order to qualify for certain scholarships. These are not need based scholarships they just need to have the application on file. For instance, the Bridge scholarship at CNM and the UNM Success Grant require a completed FAFSA. The FAFSA has become easier than ever this year. One of the big changes for the 2017-18 academic year is that you will use income from two years ago for which your taxes have already been completed. For this year’s seniors you will use 2015 income tax information. Therefore you do not need to wait until your taxes are complete to apply. If you need help feel free to reach out to me and we can set up a time to meet.
